Busto had been released without bail at his arraignment on Friday, Aug. 25, under an agreement that he would wear a GPS ankle monitor for 60 days.
However, he failed to return to court to be fitted with the monitor, leading Judge Karen Sartain to sign the bench warrant.
ABC7 NY also reports that the Southampton Police don’t believe Busto, who is originally from Washington, DC, is in their jurisdiction, based on recent social media posts that put the alleged stalker in Queens, NY.
Busto was first accused of stalking Barrymore when, on Monday, Aug. 21, he rushed up to the stage where the “Charlie’s Angels” actress was giving an interview to singer Reneé Rapp at an NYC event.
“You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York,” he said to her in a moment caught on video.
Days later, on Aug. 24, police arrested Busto after he was found to be riding his bicycle around Southampton, asking where Barrymore’s house was and going into private driveways.
